The Forum Theatre technique uses the stage as a safe space where communities can put in practice their ideas of change, observe them from the outside and brainstorm about the intended and unintended consequences of each course of action.

This approach is non-judgmental and empowers individuals and communities in the search for their own ways to transform the conflicts they live, without imposing top-down solutions from the outside.

I was impressed by how much people was captivated by the Forum Theatre performances. Their participation as actors was totally spontaneous and also in this case positive solutions to oppressive situations were proposed. Street performances have been a great opportunity for IOM and the association Quatre Chemins to vehiculate disaster risk prevention messages.
